Well of course it hurts! Or, are all spankers sadists?

So, back again eh? Yesterday wasn't just a flash in the pan. Or any type of flashing really, as my long coat with the holes cut in the pockets is still in storage.

Too much information? Tough shit. This is my blog and I'll gross you out if I want to. Or maybe even by accident on occasion.

So, where was I? Sitting on the bed with my cat, but that's not important right now.

Back to the point. I was reading the British Spanking Community forum the other day, and there was a somewhat heartbreaking post from a vanilla young lady who was in a relationship with a spanko. She let him spank her, but was entirely uncomfortable about the whole thing. She asked for advice.

A portion of the discussion that followed very sensibly revolved around the aspect of being spanked that disturbed her. It turned out that it wasn't the pain of being spanked but rather the embarrassment at the rituals of spanking, and the role play that her partner insisted on.

On the Consensual Spanking there is a heart felt letter from a male spankee, who has struggled to get his wife to spank him (an issue I can entirely sympathise with) and one of the issues is the level of pain she is comfortable inflicting on him.

Now, and this may shock any vanilla readers out there, it seems to me that most spankings don't really hurt. I know we've all seen Kiss Me Kate, where even in the most extreme versions Miss Vanessi gets at most a couple of dozen spanks, and then finds she can't sit comfortably for hours, but, generally, an adult spanking with the palm of the hand does not generate a lot of lasting discomfort.

This is not the case with an adult beating a child, where the difference in mass can lead to real suffering. This is just one of the reasons why I'm opposed to disciplinary corporal punishment for kids. Plus, you know, it weirds me out; spanking always has a sexual element for me, and, even lacking that it's a lot of fun in other ways too, and it just seems wrong as punishment.

There's enough bullying in life without adding a physical element at out most vulnerable stage.

A little clarification; I'm not disputing that a long firm spanking on a bare bottom causes a lovely red glow, genuine heat, tingling and even some soreness, but it soon fades. It's hard to see it as punishment.

When I spank I love to get a reaction; I love to see the silky cheeks of my victim change colour. I like it when I hear the odd involuntary gasp, when the feet kick sharply upwards at a particularly well placed smack, when the young lady feels a need to rub her bottom after I've finished (and all of my spankees are young ladies, irrespective of their age).

I love all of this, but my experience would in no way be better if my partner was writhing in agony, or slumped to the floor in floods of tears. I don't want her bottom battered and bruised, or, worst still, bleeding. I want to know that she felt it, but not that it left her gasping in pain.

I may be different here to some of you; I suppose that, if you're in a domestic discipline relationship, then the point of spanking is to punish, and therefore inflicting pain is a primary requirement. This isn't me however; I'm in the spanking experience for the fun of it.

Hurting someone, even when they might be getting off on it, isn't fun to me.

One small clarification; I'm not attacking those for whom pain is a vitally important part of the process. Provided both parties consent freely to the act then it's all fine with me; a lot of vanilla people would consider me spanking interest to be perverted, so I won't shun anyone else whose interests might be different from mine.

The thing is, I love spanking. I also like being spanked. I am not, I think, either a sadist or a masochist, although that is how spankos are viewed, by and large. We are seen as being a bit odd.

I've always liked odd myself.

There's a view around the scene that spanking, practised as an erotic technique, is becoming more mainstream, more socially acceptable. I think that's true, and, while I suppose I should welcome anything that  makes it easier to practice my favourite kink, I'm still a bit sad at the prospect.

One thing about being an outsider is that you tend to relate to your fellow hoodlums: you are bound by the bond of common interests. I know that I consider all of you out there in Spankiland as my countrymen, irrespective of where you come from. You are my peeps (fuck, I hate that phrase). You are my buddies, my colleagues in sexual unorthodoxy, my lust objects (in some cases).

I've wandered from my point a bit. I do that you know.

A Slight Return

Um. Hello. (Gentle cough). Is there anyone there? Hello? HELLO?

Oh, good. There is still life in the good old Spankiverse.

Well, did you miss me? Hang on, don't answer that. I'd hate to be disappointed, especially on this, my first day back and all. Well, alright, you can answer, but any responses that aren't yes will be promptly deleted (Joke! Honest. I've never deleted a response).

So then, how are you? What's been happening over the last 6 months? I hope that all of you who want them have had lots of spankings, and that the rest of you have been able to give a load.

Glad to see that all of my old favourite sites still seem to be churning along, although I'm a bit sad to see that you need a password to log into the Italian Spanking comic site - I really used to like that one too!

I see that Chross is still finding new mainstream clips (really liked the one from Save Me, even if it was pretty short), and that Richard Windsor is carrying on his one man campaign to promote spankings in the theatre (and more power to him - he has some wonderful old pictures on his blogs).

I see Richard was 50 recently; I too passed that milestone in the same week. I celebrated with a morning spanking session with the wonderful Tara Red - a surprise from my lovely and tolerant wife! I'll probably go into more details of that in due course.

There are a few problems; while I'm healthier than I have been in 18 months I still struggle a bit, and sadly we are between permanent homes (we were part of a chain and illness caused the seller of our new house to pull out, and we didn't think that we could afford to let our own sale go); much of my stuff, including the PC with most of my spanking stuff archived, is in storage. Hence no pictures with this post.

Hopefully in the near future I'll get in touch with some of the delightful spanking friends that I've made through this blog, and get some new interviews and reviews for you; I'd planned to set some stuff up before I posted annew but somehow today I just felt an urge to type.

So, joking aside, welcome back to all of you super spanking people who've stuck with me during these long fallow months; I never expected it to be this long. If I ever get the chance to meet up with any of you (female) tops, you can spank me for being absent without explanation. Oh please, go on!

A little break

I apologise whole heartedly to those of you who turn up here regularly but due to a change in my circumstances there will be no blog posts for the immediate future.

Not a spanking but still a nice shot

The CW's new series, The Carrie Diaries started last night in the US; it's a kind of prequel to Sex in the City, but with less swearing. Alright, no swearing at all.

Paysite review - Miss Monroe presents Strict English CP

I love the thrill of logging into a new paysite for the first time; all of those videos that I've never seen before, the joy of encountering new models and seeing our spanking world from a fresh perspective.

Today I have something a little different; a review of a paysite that is connected to the site of a professional dominatrix. I've never seen that before.

It would also appear that Miss Monroe is an unusual dominatrix as well; she is the first dom that I've encountered who is happy to switch. I know that this is relatively common with spankees (I've taken advantage of the fact myself on occasion) but, in my experience, most doms are strictly that.

Miss Monroe's site is a pleasure all of itself; well laid out, with large clear images, and every detail you could wish to know plainly provided, including locations, tributes and services provided.

If you click on "Members" the site takes you to something else altogether; the portal to Strict English CP. 1 month's membership costs £16.41 on a recurring basis (via CCBill) and there are substantial discounts for selecting longer membership terms.

The Home page has a pleasant greeting, and the date of the last update, along with contact details for Miss Monroe. There are links to the last 6 films posted, and a clickable banner allowing site navigation.

One of the links from this is to a very comprehensive support page, full of useful advice on video formats and downloads, and also providing a contact form should you still have problems.

The site is extremely well organised, with films being accessed from either the Content page (fairly recent films) and the Archive page (older material, generally in somewhat poorer image quality). The site has only been running since November 2012 but despite this there are a decent number of videos to download (around 35 or so at my rough count).

The films are of verying length, from around 5 minutes up to around 1 hour; each is made up of between 1 and 4 downloads. Downloads vary from around 30 mg up to 220 mg, with the Archive files generally being smaller.

All of the recent videos appear in 4 separate formats:-

- Flash at 512x288 which allows you to stream online
- Windows Media (wmv) in HD at a size of 1280x720 for download 
- DivX (divx) also in HD at 1280x720 for download
- MP4 (mp4) at 480x270 playable on iPhone and modern Smart Mobile/Cell phones (some later versions 512x288)

I've copy and pasted that bit direct, to give you an idea of just how thorough the site is. Alright, and because I'm too lazy to retype it.

Image quality on the newer clips is wonderfully good, very crisp and clear. Sound is also fine. Some of the older clips show their age (and file size) by being a little fuzzy, but they are still extremely watchable. All clips are watermarked, but you soon don't notice this as you get carried away by the action on screen.

And so on to the clips themselves.

Here we find another difference from most of the spanking sites out there; there are clips featuring women being spanked by men and women, and also clips of men being spanked by women. The only other site that I know of that has all of these combinations is Pandora Blake's Dreams Of Spanking (although Pandora also has men spanking men clips, which this site doesn't).

The split is around 50-50, with maybe just one or two more clips having men as bottoms.

I doubt that you'll recognise any of the models on the site; Miss Monroe appears in every clip, either as top or bottom (but none where she has both roles - I'd love to see that!), and there are just a handful of her friends involved.

The clips contain generally fairly basic scenarios; they revolve around school, domestic punishments and the office, and you won't be startled by their originality. There are a couple of quite relaxed videos, one showing a session with Miss Monroe, and one of her being spanked by her partner, that have no plots, but are just good spanking fun. I like both of these quite a lot.

What may startle you, however, is the severity of some of the punishments, particularly those featuring male bottoms. Some of these actually made me wince.

Films with women being spanked are more moderate; nicely reddened bottoms and some good rubbing of sore cheeks, but nothing to scare away anyone who has looked at Dallas's site.

Most of the punishments start out with hand spanking, progressing to slippers, hairbrushes, tawses, crops and, of course, canes. Some start over clothes but the majority are bare bottomed from the very beginning.

I should note one other thing; Miss Monroe is a particularly good actress. The videos are entirely adlibbed, and she is very convincing, especially, to my surprise, in films in which she is the bottom. I particularly enjoyed "Correcting the Incorrigible" for her performance. And for the hot spanking too, of course.

Costumes throughout appear authentic, and Miss Monroe has a thing for classic stylish period dress, as you can see in some of the screen shots provided here. The clothes chosen generally highlight her frame delightfully when she is punishing one of her charges.

So then, decision time. Is this site worth your time and money? Well, as a fairly new site there isn't tons of material to download, and I know that some of you will have a problem with the mixed gender of the videos' bottoms, but these are the only 2 real negatives.

The films are very solid, and Miss Monroe herself is a delight; I'm only sorry that I'll never experience her spanking style at first hand.

The cost is very reasonable, and I love a well-presented and organised website; if you're paying to join a site the least that you can expect is to be able to find what you're looking for.

There's a bit of something for everyone here, and I can confirm that the films are extremely enjoyable.

I think it's worth giving a try to; it would be interesting to come back in 12 months time to see how it has progressed.

Kindle Spanking (or, Bits of Books Reviewed)

Well, no, not literally. I love spanking as much as most, but I don't get off on smacking the non-existent bottom of an electrical device.

And you can't use a Kindle to spank someone either; they're much too lightweight, and a bit small as you need to hold them too. Although having said that, mine is in a lovely solid leather case, and, whilst I wouldn't recommend it, I guess you could paddle a bum or two with it.

Might well fuck up your ereader though!

Amazon Kindle is a lovely place; you can search the Kindle store for any given word, title or author, and it will bring up a comprehensive list of responses. let's try, oh I don't know, how about "spanking". I know it won't interest anyone here, but some people are into it, or so I'm told. No one I know, of course.

Anyway.

So, start to type in "spanking" and, after 2 letters, it gives me a list of possible responses. Oh look, the top one is spanking. I suspect that I may not be the first person to initiate this search.

One of the first excerpts that I read was from The Adult Spanking and Discipline Handbook by Governess Gemma Forbes. I haven't bought the book, which at £8.03 for an ebook seems expensive, but the sample available is tremendously entertaining, and very down to earth.

True Spanking Stories Volume II has a series of essays about allegedly true spankings; I don't know if they are, but, once again, I thoroughly enjoyed sampling them.

The Big Ass book of Spanking is a delight; the first entry, The Alaskan Spanking Survey makes for fascinating (if improbable) reading.

The first story in The Punishment List is a surprisingly restrained and really rather good humoured effort; I enjoyed it immensely.

Ant then there is Ultimate Spanking- 20 Erotic Spanking Stories, edited by Miranda Forbes. For your freebie look at this book you get 2 complete stories. The first, The Spanking Man, by Monica Belle, is a gently amusing and quite touching story, getting inside the head of a young lady who has strange ideas.

The second is the frankly stunning Perfect Bound by Shanna Germain; this is as much a bondage story as a spanking one, but it is fiercely original and extremely well written. The main character is splendidly realised, and, even on a second reading, I found the story to be incredibly arousing. I'm quite excited just thinking about it now!

I urge you to give the story a read; it's free, after all, although I enjoyed it so much I felt honour bound to plonk down my £3.28 and buy the whole book. It's well worth the money.

And then there are several thousand more; not all are to my taste, and not all are particularly well written. But if you look around you'll see some names that you might know (Rollin, Miranda Forbes and Loki Renard amongst them).

I've spent a couple of very pleasant afternoons on this, whilst feeling a bit under the weather; it's a free and easy distraction. Plus, you know, some of this stuff really turns me on.

Pain Tolerance Levels

My old friend Secret Spanko recently posted a theory in his blog about redheads allegedly having different levels of pain tolerance to the rest of us.

I don't know if that is true or not, but it is of course pretty self-evident that all of us have our own point at which we cry out "enough", or mutter our safe word. Or just cry.

I've never particularly considered myself to be a person who deals with pain all that well, but now I'm starting to rethink that a bit.

When I was 10 years old I was into rock climbing; I had a fairly serious fall and broke my arm in 2 places and my wrist in 4, when on summer holiday with my parents. I was crying but only a little, and the hospital were staggered when they saw the x-ray results as they thought from my reaction that I had probably only bruised myself.

When I was 17 years old I was at a disco, and I levered myslef up onto a balcony, having first placed my right hand onto a piece of broken glass. I bled profusely, and ended up having 8 stitches in the wound, without any pain medication.

I have twice broken ribs and I never missed a day of work because of the pain on either occasion.

I've had many health issues over the years, and I suppose I'm used to pain. I still complain about it though. In particular I have pretty bad arthritis in my fingers, and the pain from that is severe at times.

In recent years I've become switchy, and I now crave a good sound spanking. Clearly my wife is never going to spank me sufficiently to generate this level of discomfort so, once again, I find the need to look elsewhere, So, as I pleaded a few days ago, is there anyone out there who can help me? I'd prefer a switchy experience but, at this point, if there's a lady who just wants to spank, I'd be delighted to provide a target.

I have no more hope for this than I did when I made the earlier post, but sometimes it's just worth repeating yourself.
